The PFA PwC Business Scholarship will be awarded to a PFA member who is serious about starting a business, or has an existing business and is ready to take it to the next level.  The successful footballer will receive world class consultancy services with a dedicated PwC Management team to the value of $20,000 over a 12 month period.

Now entering its second year, the PFA PwC Business Scholarship aims to assist PFA members with the difficult process of starting a business.  This process involves significant planning on issues relating to operations, funding, addressing risks, sharing rewards and staying ahead of the competition.

The PFA has formed a partnership with leading professional services firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) to deliver this exciting scholarship.  The PwC Private Clients team provides a complete business consulting solution, tailored to their clients specific needs.

The Scholarship winner will attend a face to face meeting to initiate their business plans, followed by quarterly meetings (2 hours in duration) to discuss business performance and operations.  Additional time will also be allocated each quarter for preparation and follow up.

The inaugural Scholarship winner, Football Tennis Australia, is the brainchild of former Perth Glory team-mates Mark Lee, James Robinson and David Tarka.  Following 12 months of planning and consultancy with PwC the business successfully launched with its first tournament in Perth in November.

Applications are now open for the 2010 PFA PwC Business Scholarship.  If you have a business concept which you would like to bring to life, or an existing business which can be taken to the next level, please complete the application form and return it to our office by 26 February 2010.

For further information, or assistance in completing the application, please contact Shannon Beck at the PFA (shannon@pfa.net.au) or your Club Career Advisor.
