FOOTBALL TENNIS AUSTRALIA WINS INAUGURAL PFA PWC BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP

In February 2009, our first ever PFA PwC Business Scholarship was awarded to Football Tennis Australia.

Football Tennis Australia is the brainchild of former Perth Glory team-mates David Tarka, James Robinson and Mark Lee and aims to provide a structured tournament for footballers of all ages to play 2 v 2 and 4 v 4 Football Tennis.  This hybrid lightning fast game enables players to develop their skills and technical ability in a fun and exciting environment.

David Tarka said, “We are thrilled to have been selected as the inaugural winner of the PFA PwC Business Scholarship and be able to tap into the resources and expertise at PwC to launch Football Tennis Australia as a business.  We would also like to thank the PFA for their continued support and assistance.”

The PFA PwC Business Scholarship was launched in September 2008. It is awarded to a PFA member who demonstrates a substantial commitment to starting a business and is ready to take a business plan and bring it to life.

PwC Partner Manoj Santiago commented, “We are delighted to be able to offer the PwC Scholarship to PFA members and are looking forward to working with David, James and Mark in the development of business skills which will see their concept become a successful business over the next 12 months.”

As inaugural winners of the PFA PwC Business Scholarship, Football Tennis Australia have received world class consultancy services from PwC to the value of $20,000 (over a 12 month period).
