2008 FIFPRO World Player of the Year & FIFPRO World XI

Cristiano Ronaldo:  2008 FIFPro World Player of the Year



Cristiano Ronaldo was named FIFPro World Player of the Year for 2008 after the Portuguese attacker received the most number of votes from the 57,500 players who are represented by FIFPro’s member countries.

Ronaldo takes over the mantle from the Brazilian, Kaka. During the prize-giving ceremony, he thanked FIFPro for the award and for the organisation’s work in protecting the rights and welfare of players all over the globe.
