Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) is pleased to announce the nominees for the PFA A-League and W-League Players of the Month for December respectively.

Proudly supported by major partner LUCRF Super and Victoria University, the nominees are:

Hyundai A-League

>> Adrian Mierzejewski, Sydney FC

>> Bobo, Sydney FC

>> Rhys Williams, Melbourne Victory

Westfield W-League

>> Arin Gilliland, Newcastle Jets

>> Sam Kerr, Perth Glory

>> Lisa De Vanna, Sydney FC

>> Katrina Gorry, Brisbane Roar FC

The nominations of Sydney FC attacking duo Bobo and Mierzejewski come after the Sky Blues scored 19 goals in their five matches in December.

Williams has proven a revelation and a constant at the back for Melbourne Victory this season, recapturing the form that saw him as one of Australia’s premier defenders.

PFA President, Alex Wilkinson commended the trio on their nominations and performances throughout December.

“Adrian, Bobo and Rhys are worthy nominees having shown excellent form in the past month,” said Wilkinson.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to see Bobo and Adrian’s expertise first hand and as a fellow defender, it’s great to see Rhys playing really well with Melbourne Victory.”

Matildas trio Kerr, De Vanna and Gorry all enjoyed an excellent month on the pitch, while American Arin Gilliland has been a livewire for the Newcastle Jets as they currently sit second on the ladder.

PFA Executive, Lydia Williams said the quartet are worthy nominees for their impressive form.

“Congratulations to Arin, Sam, Lisa and Katrina on being the nominees for December. They have been extremely prominent for their respective clubs in what is proving to be an extremely tight W-League season,” said Williams.

The winners will be announced Wednesday, January 10.
