MELBOURNE: Thursday, April 6, 2017

Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) is pleased to announced Western Sydney Wanderers’ Brendan Santalab as the PFA A-League Player of the Month for March.

On target on five occasions during the month, Santalab edged out the likes of Diego Castro and Milos Ninkovic to win the award.

Voted on by all of the PFA’s A-League based members, the Wanderers forward said he was delighted to be chosen by the players as the winner for March.

“It’s an honour to be named PFA A-League Player of the Month and one I’m very proud of,” said Santalab.

“Like all players it means a lot to me to be recognised by my peers and I’d like thank my teammates, the staff and the fans for their support, and hopefully there will be more celebrations to come this season.”

PFA President Alex Wilkinson said Santalab was a deserving recipient.

“Five goals in March speaks for itself, but that is only part of what Santa brings to the Wanderers,” said Wilkinson.

“His work ethic and commitment is on show every week and his form in March certainly warrants this recognition.”

The PFA A-League Player of the Month is proudly supported by PFA Major Partner LUCRF Super, Travellers Choice and Winning Edge Presentations.
