Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) has today released the following statement after remarks made in yesterday’s Melbourne derby.

PFA Chief Executive John Didulica confirmed that the players’ association has connected with both players and the club CEOs since the match and said the proactive attention given to the matter was encouraging.

“FFA has a review process in place that it may elect to activate so it wouldn’t be appropriate to pre-empt or prejudice any outcome,” said Didulica.

“In our discussions with the players and both clubs in the past 24 hours there has certainly been a shared commitment to respectfully working through the issue.”
