Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) is pleased to announce Melbourne Victory’s Marco Rojas and Perth Glory’s Sam Kerr as the PFA A-League and W-League Players of the Month for December.

Having excelled for the second place Glory throughout the season, Matildas star Kerr was instrumental in the club’s outstanding December, scoring on five occasions as they made it four wins from four matches.

Voted on by all of the PFA’s W-League members, Kerr said she was honoured to be named PFA W-League Player of the Month.

“It’s nice to be voted by the players as the winner, but I accept it on behalf of all my teammates who have been fantastic and have ensured we have had a great month,” said Kerr.

“Having missed a lot of last season through injury it is great to be back playing and winning games. It is very tight the race for the Championship and I see no reason why we can’t go all the way this season.’’

Having been crowned PFA A-League Player of the Month for November, Rojas’ once again enjoyed a stellar month.

Starring as the club enjoyed an undefeated December, Rojas was on target on three occasions throughout the month.

“To be named PFA A-League Player of the Month for the second month running is a huge honour. December was a good month for the club and this tops it off,” said Rojas. “I’d like to thank my teammates, club staff and fans for their support and my peers throughout the A-League who voted for me.”

PFA President Alex Wilkinson said both Kerr and Rojas were worthy recipients of the players’ recognition.

“Sam and Marco have been in outstanding form this season and are thoroughly deserving winners for December,” said Wilkinson. “There are few better examples of the quality of players we have playing in our top domestic competitions.”
