“I thank the board of FIFPro Asia for its unanimous support for my appointment,” said Vivian.

“The PFA is pleased to reiterate its long standing commitment to the development of FIFPro Asia, especially the strengthening of its member associations and the voice of professional footballers in our region.

“FIFPro Asia has the responsibility to continue to actively shape the future of Asian football and promote the professionalism of the region’s footballers, whilst contributing to the good governance, development and the international competitiveness of football in Asia and Oceania.

“Finally on behalf of the region’s players I would like to thank Brendan. His achievements in the game are truly remarkable and his contribution to the game has been immense.

“We are pleased that his world class expertise and experience will continue to be available through his new role with the global union.

“With so many of the PFA’s members plying their trade in Asia it is vital that their remains a strong voice for the players in the region and I’m determined to build on the work undertaken by FIFPro Asia.”
