Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) is pleased to announce Canberra United’s Ashleigh Sykes as the PFA W-League Player of the Month for November.

Having starred for United during November, scoring twice, the forward edged out Kim Little and Larissa Crummer to become just the second recipient of the player voted award.

Sykes said she was proud to have been selected by her peers as the PFA W-League Player of the Month for November.

“My fellow nominees Kim and Larissa have both had fantastic seasons so far and it was a great feeling to be nominated alongside them, to win it is even better,” said Sykes.

“As a player it is always great to have your performances recognised and it means even more when it is by your fellow players.

“Everyone at the club has been working extremely hard this season and I would like to thank all of my teammates for their support.”

PFA Executive Member Lydia Williams said Sykes was deserving of the recognition of her peers.

“Ash has shown everyone what a fantastic player she is and has consistently been amongst the best in the competition,” said Williams.

“The start of the season has shown what great players we have playing in the W-League and having players like Ash plying their trade here will ensure the standard continues to rise.”
