The outstanding form of Aaron Mooy is recognised with the Melbourne City midfielder today named as Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) A-League Player of the Month for November.

Edging out Mitch Nichols and Besart Berisha the Socceroo enjoyed a stellar November, scoring twice and lighting up the competition with his passing range and vision.

Having been voted on by all of the PFA’s A-League members, Mooy said it was an honour to be named as the player of the month.

“Being voted by your peers as the winner of a major award is something that means a lot to all players,” said Mooy.

“This award has been won by some of the best players in the league and I’m extremely proud to have won it.

“I would like to thank my teammates, the staff at the club and all the fans for their support and I’m determined to play my part in bringing success to City.”

PFA President Matt McKay paid tribute to Mooy and said he was deserving of the recognition.

“Aaron’s form throughout the season for club and country has been truly remarkable,” said McKay.

“He has been one of the outstanding players in the league and has earned this award.

“With a huge amount of the A-League yet to be played and important World Cup qualifiers coming up it is extremely encouraging for Australian football to have a player regularly performing at such a high level.”
